Knowledge is power

Knowledge is power
So simple to say but a tough frontier to conquer
Not all men in the world are wise - my simple observation
Just turning old does not make you wiser
You can't catch a fish just by watching it from the shore
To catch it, you gotta get your pants wet, yeah really
Learning comes from observing, and more from hearing
But to make anything out of it, you gotta trade it
All in life is a trade
We trade our sleep to learn
We trade what we learn to make money
We trade our money to get luxury
And this is one commodity we love not to trade
A good day's sleep is what we yearn the rest of life
Till the days of vanity passes and we become old
That great passion to trade lingers not

Now we go back to the old story
Knowledge is power
All these days we learned a lot
It is a fast world
Finds it hard to cope with
It runs real faster, and in our youth we chased it
Now we are crowned with silver threads
All that we have earned all these days on earth
We can just be proud of, but can just be proud of
And look back the days of our youth
Our toil and boil are long forgotten
For the joy overwhelms cos they have yielded good results
We open the book and find a leaf in it
A lovely comparison runs in our mind
This is the knowledge we treasured all these days
Then the breeze of eternity caresses
And carries this one leaf
We feel as if our knowledge is gone
There is a silent murmur
What am I going to trade with now...
